Pasquale Raia (PhD, Associate Professor)
I’m a naturalist. My erratic research agenda spans from macroevolution, to insular biology to evolutionary ecology. While I guess this is part of being a naturalist, I stick to my old and deep fondness with evolutionary theory in its many facets and shapes, which in my own definition is everything falling in between R modeling of trait evolution or species diversity, and ethology. I teach or have taught, either, Paleontology, Evolutionary Paleontology, Vertebrate Paleontology, Biostatistics, Environmental History of Human Civilization and Sociobiology. Nice to say, I’ve taken from teaching as much inspiration in terms of research as from everyday research practice. Scholar ResearchGate Scopus Site |
![]() Francesco Carotenuto (PhD, Researcher) I am a researcher at University of Naples. My scientific interests range from macroecology to morphological evolution of Cenozoic large mammals. One of my main goals is to use programming (in R) to develop new methods integrating spatial and temporal information in the study of fossil species evolutionary ecology. mail: f.carotenuto@ymail.com ResearchGate Scopus Site |
![]() Mirko Di Febbraro (PhD, post-doc) My research interests include the quantification of impacts, such as climate change, invasive species and forest management, on biodiversity using different ecological modelling tools. I focus on investigating niche dynamics and patterns of species distribution across different spatial and temporal scales. And yes, I do play bass guitar in a Dire Straits cover band. |

I am a master student working on the evolution of human behavior (partly inferred from brain morphology). I’ve a keen interest in primates, their evolution and in more general terms about how to derive etological metrics and inference directly from the fossil record. I do use a comparative approach inclusive of extant species observations. And yes, I’m cuddling of baby chimps! |
